Shibori Yarns
These yarns require a large amount of preparation using dyeing and tying techniques such as Arashi (pole dyeing), Itajima(shape-resist) and Kinoka (like tie-dyeing).
The three yarns pictured are called after Australian birds and the colour comes from the leaves of a special Eucalypt tree (Eucalyptus cinerea). The skeins from left to right are called:
Magpie, Kookaburra and Currawong chick. New are the Ironbark Shibori and Blue Kookaburra.
