Indigo is the blue denim colour we know and love! This colour is derived from the aIndigofera tinctora flowers after fermentation in a fermentation vat: a process that is hundreds of years old, since the Silk Road brought it across Europe. The blue colour is so complementary to anyone of any age, skin type or colouring.
There are three saturation levels (at least!) from the indigo vat. I'll call them mid-blue, blue and dark blue. Each skein is beautifully variegated with a satin-blue depth of colour and sheen. Using these blue indigo-dyed yarns in clothing and accessories will pair equally well with blue jeans or with a formal dress / pantsuit.
There are indigo-dyed 4ply sock or 8ply 100% merino yarns. Sweater quantities can be custom ordered by email (gumblossomyarns@icloud.com) by quoting the total number of yards/meters of yarn required in your email.
With 80% superfine merino and 20% nylon the 4 ply yarn is a smooth, squishy-soft and durable yarn. It is the perfect choice for socks, shawls, baby clothing and cardigans. The softness and drape of this yarn makes it ideal for any garment worn next to the skin. One skein will easily make an adult pair of socks.
